🍷 Visit at Domaine Boisson in Cairanne (30 May 2026)

A Deep Dive into One of the Rhône Valley’s Most Authentic Estates

During my visit to Cairanne, I had the opportunity to enjoy an in‑depth tasting at Domaine Boisson — one of the most character‑driven and traditionally minded producers in the Southern Rhône. From fresh, expressive whites to structured, terroir‑driven reds, the estate offers a remarkably complete portfolio that reflects both heritage and precision.

🍏 White Wines: Silice & L’Exigence

Domaine Boisson produces two contrasting white wines that beautifully showcase the diversity of Cairanne’s terroir:

Silice 2025

A rich, fruit‑forward white wine with the warmth and aromatic generosity typical of the Southern Rhône.

L’Exigence 2025

A precise, mineral‑driven and elegant white with remarkable freshness and tension.

The estate’s rosé is clean, refreshing, and perfectly suited for a relaxed afternoon.

🍇 Red Wines of the Southern Rhône

Côtes‑du‑Rhône 2025

An approachable, fruit‑driven red that is enjoyable young. Since part of the fruit comes from vineyards outside the Cairanne appellation, it carries the Côtes‑du‑Rhône designation. A perfect everyday Rhône wine with soft tannins and bright fruit.

Petit Boisson Rouge

A standout natural‑style wine made without added yeasts or sulfites. With a notable share of Carignan, it delivers vibrant minerality, freshness, and a pure expression of fruit — an excellent example of minimal‑intervention winemaking in the Rhône Valley.

Cairanne “Les Trois Terroirs” 2023

Sourced from three emblematic vineyard sites — Les Sables, Les Coteaux, and Les Garrigues — this Cairanne is powerful, structured, and built for aging. The ripe tannins and layered aromatics highlight the depth and diversity of the Cairanne terroir.

L’Exigence 2024 (Signature Wine)

Made predominantly from old vines and aged for 12 months in oak, this award‑winning cuvée combines a silky texture with a bold, fruit‑driven finish. One of the most refined and expressive wines of the domaine.

Les Sables 2022 (Flagship Wine)

My personal favorite. Les Sables offers an exceptionally silky texture, a bright light‑red color, and a style that bridges the power of Châteauneuf‑du‑Pape with the finesse of Burgundy. I first tasted the 2020 vintage and was immediately captivated. This wine delivers elegance, depth, and impressive balance.

⭐ Conclusion

Domaine Boisson in Cairanne is always worth a visit.
The combination of traditional winemaking, expressive terroirs, and authentic Southern RhĂ´ne character makes this estate one of the most compelling producers in the region.
